		<description>Thanks, finally I was able make my rails application accept the date format that I really wanted to use!

However, at the config/initializers I changed the lines to the following:

ActiveSupport::CoreExtensions::Date::Conversions::DATE_FORMATS.
    merge!(default =&gt; &#039;%d/%m/%Y&#039;)

Otherwise I was getting an error in Aptana Studio.
